What is a Closing Costs?

Funds needed at the time of closing (separate from and in addition to the down payment) and sometimes the closing cost can be added to the mortgage.  These costs can be Loan origination fees, discount points, Attorney fees, and Recording fees. They often will total from 3% to 5% of the price of the home, payable in cash, credit or might be added to the mortgage.
